Puerto Vallarta reopens gradually
Although travel restriction has been extended until June 22nd, Puerto Vallarta started its reopening process with strict hygienic measures on May 18th, stepping forward with Cancun and Riviera Maya as safe destinations in Mexico awaiting for travelers.
The Tourism Secretary of Jalisco State considers allowing travelers to visit the destination “… when the time is right”.
This does not mean that businesses will open yet, it means that businesses are getting prepared to follow health protocols to obtain a certification that will allow operating to their 50% of capacity with a special attention schedule in order not to concentrate crowds. Crowded places will remain closed, such as nightclubs, beach clubs, bars, and gyms.
Coffee stores and restaurants which apply health processes and stick to social distancing guidelines might operate in 50% of their capacity as well.
Tourism Secretary stated that plans for the reopening of Puerto Vallarta are being done very cautiously, so a safe destination can welcome future travelers.
